About Kirsty
My name is Kirsty, but I also answer to “Martin’s wife”, “the mam who does estate law”, “animal lover” and “teacher Kirsty”!
I have two German shepherd rescues. I’m considering getting a cat. And (while I won’t force it) I secretly hope my daughter takes over Kirsty’s Law when she’s old enough. Because it’s not just a business for me – it’s my way of helping families protect their future.
My journey into estate law began before I was able to comprehend it. After my parents divorced, I was unexpectedly left out of a will. I realised then that you never really know what the future holds. And I still think this pushed me into law.
For years, I worked across various areas of law, mostly in litigation. But it was too impersonal, I just couldn’t keep going. I had lost my love for the law.
I wanted to make a real difference for families like mine. To guide people when they’re lost. To show them empathy when they’re ignored. To empower them when they’re hopeless.
That is what I and Kirsty’s Law are all about.
Our Approach
Kirsty’s Law is built on family values, and designed to support yours.
We believe that a house loved is a house sustained. And it is our job to love yours.
Our Non-negotiable values:
- We go the extra mile;
- We are honest and graceful
- We are considerate and empathetic;
- We are capable and excellent in all we do;
- We value family and we safeguard them all;
Kirsty’s family inspires her to go to the ends of the earth, if necessary. Her upbringing makes her considerate of others. Her professional experience makes her capable and enforces her desire to do better than those before her. Her experience as a pianist and music teacher taught her attention to detail and patience!
Every one of our values is reflected in how we work.
Our Process
- Start off with a cuppa: We book an appointment to get to know each other and understand your needs. We offer home appointments (at no extra charge) so you’re more at ease.
- We listen and advise: We take your instructions for a will, trust or LPA. We can guarantee nothing will be overlooked because we care enough to listen, inquire and advise.
- Draft the paperwork: We leave you out of the boring legal part but we make sure to give you a chance to review and approve of the drafted documents.
- Return for signing: No, we will not send the paperwork unaccompanied. Signing a will can be tricky, so we gladly take the drive back to help you sign it correctly. The same applies to trusts and LPAs.
- We have optional witnesses on standby: If you don’t have anyone you can call to witness the signing, we can bring one. All to ensure a smooth and effective service.
